NASCIO 2008

I'm here in Milwaukee at the 2008 Annual NASCIO Conference. It's been a good opportunity see how other states are doing and plan to do. We were very pleased to receive the Digital State award last night from the Center for Digital Government which has been a tremendous influence in driving the states to excel in both public sector IT and egovernment by creating friendly competition between the states. It actually helps us to develop goals which we know will drive change and improvement in everything we are doing technology-wise. When I get back to Utah, we will put together a long list of what we need to do over the next two years to ensure continuous egov improvement, and develop the draft egov plan for 2009-10 which will be presented to the CIO and state stakeholders. It's going to be a busy fall for sure.
